Very few artist have made as much as an impact as Usher has. Recently when he appeared on American Idol it stated Usher has sold over 45 million albums worldwide. That alone is an astonishing feat. However I decided to do some research to find out just how much hes really sold. So lets do the math.
His debut album was certified gold by the RIAA and has sold over two million copies worldwide. His break through album My Way sold an amazing six million copies+ in the United States and sold an updated ten million copies worldwide. His follow up album 8701 sold 4.8 million copies in the United States and an updated ten million copies worldwide. (Notice his increasing worldwide popularity) Then of course came his album Confessions. Which has been certified diamond by the RIAA and has sold an updated 22 million copies worldwide. His 2008 album Here I Stand has sold an updated 1.8 million copies in the United States and over six million copies worldwide. Sure its sales don't compare to Confessions but considering Usher already reached legendary icon status not to mention had another number 1 hit with Love In This "Here I Stand" was still a good commercial success.
So lets add up all those numbers. 2 million+ 10 million+ 10 million+ 22 million+ 6 million= ?
Add up all that and Usher has sold 50 million copies worldwide.
